Established in 1909, Torquay Golf Club sits in the heart of a picturesque coastal region known as the English Riviera. The traditional club is thriving after more than a century in existence, having evolved over the years into a high-quality parkland course.
Originally built on land that had been used for farm pasture and later for Easter steeplechase horse racing meetings, the course boasts views that have always been regarded as being particularly attractive, and so ideally suited to golf.
Construction work began, with the layout of the new course designed by the professional of Devon’s historic Westward Ho golf club.
Anyone playing a round can enjoy panoramic views across the ocean, from Lyme Bay to the famous Portland Bill lighthouse. The course boasts high-quality greens on every hole, its tree-lined fairways creating a challenge for players of all abilities.
The clubhouse provides bar and catering facilities, where customers can enjoy dining and a drink on the terrace overlooking the fairways.
Crown Sports Lockers was commissioned by Torquay Golf Club to refurbish the locker rooms. We manufactured and installed two-tier golf bag lockers with solid oak-framed doors and matching seats. We also provided a framed, green baize notice board to complete the refurbishment.
