Established in 1541, The King’s School, Chester, is a historic independent school. A top-performing, co-educational school, founded by King Henry VIII, it has had various other titles, including The Free School and The Grammar School.
It became known as The King’s School in the mid-19th century and today it is one of the top schools in the UK. The age range for pupils spans from infants to sixth form.
