A long-established football club, in the Southern Football League – Division One South, Cornwall
Project Overview
Falmouth Town AFC play in the Southern Football league. The team play at Bickford Park – a ground which they originally built themselves in 1957. They were the first ever team in Cornwall to get through the qualifiers, and reach the first round of the FA Cup in 1962/63 season.
Crown Sports Lockers (UK) Ltd were privileged to have been selected to design, manufacture and install quality wooden open football lockers, during refurbishment of the training facilities, after Falmouth AFC had seen the quality of their work whilst visiting another football club in Cornwall.
Securing the Contract
Spencer Grimwood, one of the Directors and co-owners of Crown Sports Lockers stated ”We were initially contacted directly by Andrew Westgarth, the Manager of the First Team at Falmouth Town AFC, in September 2023. The actual works were commissioned at a later date, and the project was completed in July 2024. We carried out a site survey and a design consultation, also looking at several different combinations of finishes and upholstery options to match the club’s branding.”

Crown have manufactured and installed quality wooden lockers for many prestigious sports and leisure clubs, including professional football and rugby clubs, spin studios, gyms, golf clubs, health clubs, hotels and spas, schools and offices. Branding can be followed if required, and they can also provide changing facilities, including washrooms (shower cubicles, changing cubicles, WC cubicles, wet & dry vanity units, towel drops, etc. Products can be designed with a variety of styles, colours, and upholstery, in addition to woodgrain. Design and manufacturing are carried out at their premises, and installations are taken care of by their skilled fitting team. They work across the whole of the UK and overseas.
Outstanding Football Lockers and Changing Facilities for Falmouth Town AFC
The expert team of fitters from Crown Sports Lockers, installed 20 x open wooden football lockers, in an Egger Natural Hamilton Oak finish, with upholstered, integrated bench seating in black. This seamlessly fitted in with the emblem of the club, which can be seen on the floor of the changing facilities.

About Falmouth Town AFC
Falmouth Town AFC were established 75 years ago, in 1949, and are therefore steeped in history, with many successful seasons under their belts.
More recently, in the 2021/22 season, Falmouth Town AFC earned promotion to the Premier Division of the Western League, and also won the Cornwall Senior Cup. In 2023/24 they were Premier Division runners-up to Helston Athletic (Crown Sports Lockers also completed Football Lockers for their club.) Again, they won the Cornwall Senior Cup during this season. They earned promotion to the Southern Football League – Division One – South, which is the league they play in currently.
