Everyone enjoys a little luxury – and few things are more exhilarating than a relaxing spa treatment to help us escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life. If you’re a connoisseur of spa resorts, you’ll be aware of the fabulous treatments on offer and the health and wellbeing benefits they can provide.
Some of the most expensive spa treatments in the world are also some of the most popular, with enthusiasts flocking to the most exclusive spa resorts to feel the benefits of the most luxurious therapies on the planet.
- Evian Bath – $5,000
Probably the most expensive spa treatment in the world, the Evian Bath on offer at the Hotel Victor, Miami Beach, Florida, costs $5,000. Staunch devotees of the treatment swear by the mineral water’s ability to illuminate the skin, but this is far more than a simple spa treatment – instead, it’s a total package of luxury and relaxation, with staff at the Hotel Victor spa catering for customers’ every need.
To revitalise the skin and the senses, guests are invited to plunge into a 350-gallon infinity-edge bathtub filled with a 1,000 litres of Evian spring water and Gerber daisies. While the bath is being prepared, the Spa V therapists are on hand to provide a soothing and revitalising selection of spa treatments. Expertly prepared by Vincent Muraco (the Hotel Victor chef), an abundance of gourmet delicacies are available to enhance the experience, such as lollipops made of smoked salmon and the Seven Sins of Chocolate dessert!
- Grand Luxe Facial – $750
At the Radiance Spa in San Francisco, this exclusive treatment is a luxurious facial, beginning with an intense massage. Micro-current technology is then used to tighten facial muscles, thus reducing fine lines, and LED light therapy removes blackheads, whiteheads and dead skin cells, while clearing up red spots and rosacea.
The facial concludes with luxury treatments for your face and hands: a facial diamond peel and a caviar and Omega 6 face mask, and protein drops massaged into your hands. The aim is to leave the skin looking young and fresh – creating similar effects to a facelift, but without the surgery.
- Gold Facial – $500
The London-based UMO Skin Clinic has an innovative treatment that will have you looking like the Bond girl in Goldfinger – as your face will be literally covered in a 24 carat gold mask! The facial also uses a Gamma PGA compound, with the combination of ingredients providing a significant amount of nutrients and hydration. The mask is said to restore skin tone, elasticity and texture.
Gold has been noted by historians as a skin treatment since the days of the Egyptian queen Cleopatra, born in 69BC, who was said to have slept in a gold mask every night. In ancient Rome, skin problems were commonly treated with gold balm, which was also used in ancient Chinese medicine as a key to youth.
- Elysian Cleanse – $400
The spa in the Waldorf, Chicago, provides a luxurious full-body treatment, known as the Elysian Cleanse. It consists of a marine mineral rejuvenation, a seaweed wrap and deep tissue massage. Based on water therapy, it is described as a “calming cocoon” that exfoliates and then renews the skin.
The marine treatment is said to be full of minerals that provide excellent exfoliation, leaving the skin with a healthy glow, from top to toe. The Elysian Cleanse also includes a facial and treatments for the delicate skin around the eyes and the scalp.
- Heated Diamond Chakra Massage – $300
If you’ve already tried the 24-carat gold facial, it could be time to head to the Trump Hotel to try out a massage with real diamonds! Guests at the luxury spa are greeted by therapists known as personal “spa attachés”, who cater for their every need.
The diamond treatment is widely available at the luxury spas at the Trump chain of hotels. Similar to a hot stone massage, it uses genuine heated diamonds or even emeralds if you prefer. The diamonds are gently warmed and then applied to chakra points, where they are said to absorb negative energy and leave customers feeling peaceful, soothed and calm.
Crown Sports Lockers’ bespoke and self-install spa locker solutions and spa treatment room furniture will create luxurious surroundings, where guests can enjoy the full benefits of the treatments on offer. Please contact us for further details of our products and services.
